1. Dewani Abbas

Dewani Abbas telah bertugas di Berita Harian sebagai wartawan sejak 1978 selepas lulus dengan Diploma bidang Sebaran Am (Mass Communication) dari Institut Teknologi Mara (kini Universiti Institut Teknologi Mara), Malaysia.

Pada 1996 beliau menubuhkan Kelab Coretan Remaja di bawah naungan Berita Harian yang aktif menjalankan pelbagai kegiatan penulisan dan kesusasteraan untuk remaja, termasuk peraduan menulis cerpen remaja dan pembukuan buku cerpen remaja. Kelab itu dibubar pada tahun 2004. Kini beliau ialah penyunting di Berita Harian.

Dewani Abbas started as a journalist with Berita Harian since 1978 after she graduated with a diploma in mass communication from Mara Technological Institute, Malaysia.

In 1996, she set-up Kelab Coretan Remaja (Youth Writing Club) which was active in organising various literary activities for youths, including short story writing competition and producing anthology of short-stories written by youths. The club was dissolved in 2004.

Dewani is now a Sub-Editor in Berita Harian.

2. Hamed Ismail

Hamed Ismail atau 'Amar Hais' dikenali atas usahanya 'menghidupkan' karyanya menerusi pelbagai wadah - merentasi teater, televisyen, radio, dalam talian dan media cetak. Pernah bertugas sebagai Penolong Penyelidik Radio dan Televisyen Singapura; pembaca di Kementerian Kebudayaan dan penulis skrip di Perbadanan Penyiaran Singapura (SBC); Penulis Skrip Eksekutif Mediacorp TV12. Beliau mula menulis pada awal tahun 70-an. Antara karya terbaharu beliau adalah kumpulan puisi 'Suara Dalam', antologi 'Potret Puisi Melayu Singapura' dan 'Tafsiran Tiga Alam'.

Hamed Ismail is known for telling his stories through various forms - theatre, television, radio, online and in print. This prolific writer who is also known as 'Amar Hais' was formerly a Research Assistant at a public broadcasting service, Radio and Televisyen Singapura, before he embarked on a career as an officer at Ministry of Culture. He was also a scriptwriter at the-then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) and Executive Scriptwriter at MediaCorp TV12.

Mr Hamed began writing in early 70s. Among his latest works are: Suara Dalam (Inner Voice); Potret Puisi Melayu Singapura (A Portrait of Singapore Malay Poetry); and Tafsiran Tiga Alam (Intepretations of Three Worlds).

3. Juffri Supaat

Juffri Supaat merupakan lulusan dalam jurusan kesusasteraan dari Universiti Queensland dan meraih Sarjana Pendidikan dari Universiti Teknologi Queensland. Juffri gigih dalam menyuburkan kegiatan persuratan Melayu dengan menjadikan perpustakaan sebagai tempat memasyarakatkan sastera dan Bahasa Melayu di Singapura. Beliau juga giat dalam membangunkan rangkaian dengan belia melalui Institusi Pengajian Tinggi dan pertubuhan persuratan tempatan. Antara karya beliau ialah Rentas Tinta (Terbitan bersama). (2003); dan Menyongsong pelangi: Antologi sajak dan cerpen penulis Asas '50. (2005).

Juffri Supaat, an arts graduate from the University of Queensland who also attained a Masters in Education from Queensland University of Technology, is actively involved in promoting the Malay arts and culture in Singapore and the region.

Among his key efforts is making use of the library as a central place to reach out to the Singaporean community in promoting the Malay language, its arts and culture. Some of his works are Rentas Tinta (Beyond Words) and Menyongsong Pelangi (Against the Rainbow).

4. Hanim Mohd Salleh

Hanim mula bertugas di Singapore Press Holdings sejak 1987. Sebagai wartawan mapan, beliau terlibat sebagai pengadil untuk kategori drama dan muzik untuk saluran televisyen 'Suria' bagi acara Pesta Perdana, Anugerah Planet Muzik, Muzika Ekstravaganca dan pelbagai pertandingan dan festival lain, anjuran pelbagai institusi. Beliau juga merupakan anggota Jawatankuasa Penasihat Program Melayu bagi Penguasa Pembangunan Media (MDA) selama 10 tahun. Hanim juga berkarya dan telah menghasilkan naskah untuk pementasan muzikal Rock Opera.

Hanim Mohd Saleh is the Section Editor of Lifestyle, Art and Entertainment with the Malay daily, Berita Harian/Berita Minggu and has been with Singapore Press Holdings since 1987. A veteran journalist in the Malay arts and entertainment scene in Singapore, she also served in the Media Development Authority's Malay Programming Advisory Committee (MPAC) for 10 years.

Hanim has been called upon to judge drama and music categories for Malay TV channel Suria's Pesta Perdana, She has also written the scripts for musical productions Rock Opera - An Artiste Life and Rock Opera The Musical.

5. Jamal Ismail

Jamal Ismail atau nama penanya 'Al Ijma' mula menulis cerpen, puisi dan drama pentas pada tahun 1977. Beliau pernah bertugas sebagai Penerbit drama televisyen, di Unit Drama Melayu, Perbadanan Penyiaran Singapura (SBC). Beliau seorang yang aktif dalam bidang kerja teater. Pernah menjadi Penolong Setiausaha di Perkumpulan Seni, sebuah pertubuhan drama dan tari yang ulung di Singapura. Cerpennya yang bertajuk Yang diulas sebagai karya yang mempunyai falsafah dan persembahan yang unggul. Antara karyanya termasuklah antologi cerpen 'Yang' dan novel 'Songsang'.

Jamal Ismail, who is also known by his pen-name 'Al lima', began writing short stories, poetry and theatrical plays in 1977. Formerly a television producer at Malay Drama Unit, Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), Jamal was active in theatre productions and was appointed as Assistant Secretary for Perkumpulan Seni, a Malay arts group. His short story 'Yang' and his novel 'Songsang' are among his best works.

6. Noor Effendy Ibrahim

Penerima Anugerah Budaya Yayasan Singapura Dewan Perniagaan dan Perusahaan Jepun (JCCI) 2007, Noor Effendy telah berkhidmat sebagai anggota Lembaga Majlis Seni Kebangsaan (NAC) antara 2004 hingga 2006 (Penggal ke-7). Effendy juga merupakan penerima Felo Budaya NAC 2014.

Effendy merupakan Pengarah Kesenian ke-5 The Substation (2010-2015), penggiat lapangan seni kontemporari bebas pertama Singapura, dan juga telah berkhidmat sebagai Pengarah Kesenian Teater Ekamatra, sebuah syarikat Teater Melayu kontemporari, dari 2001-2006.

Effendy juga seorang tenaga pengajar kesenian, setelah menjadi seorang Kakitangan Akademik Kanan di Sekolah Teknologi bagi Kesenian, Politeknik Republik Singapura (2007-2010), dan telah mengajar secara sambilan di Institut Pendidikan Nasional, Akademi Seni Halus Nanyang, Maktab Seni LaSalle, dan Institut Teknologi DIGIPEN.

Effendy menamatkan pendidikan peringkat 'A' di Maktab Rendah Victoria pada 1991 di mana beliau merupakan kelompok kedua pelajar bagi Pengajian Teater dan Drama untuk program Peringkat 'A'. Effendy meraih Ijazah Sarjana Muda Seni Halus dari Sekolah Seni Institusi Chicago dan Sarjana dalam Amalan Kontemporari dari Akademi Seni Halus Nanyang-Universiti Huddersfield pada 2007.

Effendy kini sedang menjalankan kajian perihal persembahannya selepas menerima Geran Ciptaan NAC 2016.

A recipient of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Singapore Foundation Culture Award 2007, Noor Effendy Ibrahim has served as a member of the Singapore National Arts Council (NAC) Board from 2004 to 2006 (7th term). Effendy is also a recipient of the NAC Cultural Fellowship 2014.

Effendy was the fifth Artistic Director of The Substation (2010-2015), Singapore’s first independent contemporary art space, and had also served as the Artistic Director of Teater Ekamatra, a Singapore-based contemporary Malay Theatre company, from 2001-2006.

Effendy is also an arts educator, having been a Senior Academic Staff at the School of Technology for the Arts, Republic Polytechnic Singapore (2007-2010), and has taught part-time in Singapore at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, LaSalle College of the Arts, and DIGIPEN Institute of Technology.

Effendy completed his ‘A’ Levels at Victoria Junior College in 1991 where he was in the second cohort of the Theatre Studies and Drama ‘A’ Level programme. Effendy obtained a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000 and an MA in Contemporary Practice from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts-University of Huddersfield in 2007.

Effendy is currently working on his performance research after receiving the NAC Creation Grant 2016.
